The 0.6MPa steam-type double-effect absorption chiller of the Medan Coffee Plant in Indonesia has a cooling capacity of 1750kW. The unit has been in operation since 2009 without serious failures. The project uses the remaining steam of the steam boiler of the coffee factory for cooling, which is used for process cooling after coffee beans are roasted.
